Likely you have heard the announcement from Wizards of the Coast (WOTC) that they will be introducing D&D 4th Edition by next spring/summer. I'll put out more information the more I hear about it. I recommend picking up a copy of the new Star Wars: Saga Edition. The basic structure of 4th Edition is supposed to be similar, so it will give you a head start on what is happening. The WOTC web site is also putting out information on it.

Living Greyhawk will be coming to an end. Apparently paying royalties to Gary Gygax's ex-wife is something WOTC wants to end as well. They will be starting Living Forgotten Realms in its place.

WOTC is also taking back / cancelling all of its open license and regular license agreements and will start new ones with companies on a case by case basis. They want to make sure D&D products are up to their standards, and they would like to make compensation on their licenses.

Any Open Game License (OGL) content currently being published or going to print is still okay, but don't start anything new.

There are good and bad ways to look at this, so stay informed and remember that D&D is what you make of it and how you play it. We still have people buying and playing 2nd Edition, and I know we'll have people pick up 4th Edition as soon as it arrives.

Please feel free to post your thoughts, and KEEP GAMING!!! Very Happy
