A Little About Myself...

Postby dawgeth on Sat Jun 27, 2009 5:27 am

Just thought I'd stop by and say hello. I used to be a huge player of Magic when my step dad got me hooked on it when I was younger, however, I fell away from it and stuck strictly to the PC and Console game scene for a long time.

However, I find myself wanting to get back into playing board and card games, maybe experiencing a miniature game for the first time, something to diversify my gaming resume. A couple months ago I picked up a bunch of WoW cards to look through and attempt to learn, however never had anyone around to play. I look forward to attempting to learn to play that and maybe drop by and check out a miniature game in action. I have an extremely addictive gaming personality, so once something piques my interest, I fully support and get incredibly into it.

Welcome Dawgeth,

There are a lot of minis games to choose from, but the most popular at the store now are Games Workshop (Warhammer 40K, Warhammer Fantasy, Lord of the Rings) and Warmachine. Magic: The Gathering is also VERY popular. Star Wars minis also has a regular group, and they tend to play Tuesday and/or Thursdays.

If you want to try Games Workshop, they meet every Tuesday evening to play. Next Tuesday is a "Starter" league for Warhammer Fantasy, so it is the perfect time to join.

Warmachine meets every Thursday evening. The new rules are going to come out in August, and a bunch of us are looking forward to the fresh look.

I like the WOW TCG and we used to have a regular group, but they fell apart last summer. We still carry the game and I encourage any of the players out there to communicate, pick a date, and enjoy this gem of a game!
