Each army at the appropriate level (500, 1000, 1500, 2000) will be voted on by the players and anyone else that wishes to participate in the voting. You will not be allowed to vote for your own work though.

Disclamer
Rules and prize amounts can be changed at any time, nothing is written in stone. Recieved the go ahead from the store owner to move forward with this. But, there is a possibility he could could change his mind about prizes and or amounts. Also dates could change for a numberr of factors. So, don't say I didn't tell you so.

i think this sounds great, with the running total of VP you could be undefeated in the tournament but still loose if you dont get the VP at the end. i like that part Very Happy

I had some website templates on my pc I just thought of. I could create a site where I could post our rosters/results if you want it for reference. Let me know and I will set it up.

And if anyone wants to email me, my email is joda84@gmail.com BTW: I am the one with the Necron army.

I think a pretty strict proxy rule should be applied. Like no vehicles or hq should be allowed.. But lets say if you needed two-three more warriors then other miniatures (possibly from another game) of same size should be allowed. Like 75-100 points at the very very max...

The proxy rule will just be for the first 500 point game and that will be restricted to 50%, after that, no proxies except in extreme circumstances.
And the tyranid player was running them with only 2 wounds but gained 15pts per wound taken off.

I'm going to do a bit of a modified combat patrol for our first 500pt game. Due to the point everyone is wanting to run multiwound HQ, since combat patrol was meant for 400pt, I figure 500pt could have some breathing room.

So,
0-1 HQ
1+ Troops
No ordnance
No vehicles with armor value above 33 (Front+Side+rear)
No 2+ saves
No Special Characters

Also I would like it if everyone brought two copies of their army list, that way we could keep track of progression and be easier to figure up victory points.

Hi. Astrid here. I play marines, necrons, nids, guard and chaos. I understand the GW escalation rules but the more than two wound issue confuses me. Your help will be appreciated. Very Happy

-You can take any HQ model if you deduct -15 per wound? ie. I can take a Demon Prince for 110 and minus 30 points for two wounds =80 pts for a two wound Demon Prince? Is this correct? Same would go for other large or more than 2 wound HQ and Heavy Models right?

-I bring this up because 500 pt escalation games limit multiwound creatures for more than just wounds. Their power and toughness tend to dominate small games. I played in one two months ago as the Nids and took a squad of Warriors as my leader rather than a huge flying Hive Tyrant.

I'd appreciate clarification so I can build and have a list ready for Tuesday night Smile I look forward to meeting many of you and having a good time gaming! Surprised

Yes, the 2 wound limit exists in combat patrol rules, but combat patrol also has the rule of no more that 400pts. We were doing the wound=15points things in previous 400 pt games. But I figured since we are doing 500pts, and most everyone(well closer to half) were wanting to field 3+ wound creatures. So I figured this would be an easier starting point for everyone. The 700pt game on will be the standard force configuration chart.
You mentioned multiple armies, I myself have thought about bringing two armies. My only concern is time. It would be fine in the early games, they will go quick, but once we get up to 1,000+ points it will get harder to get a second game in.
So, the rule I have been pondering on the subject is. If you wish to bring two armies you can, but they will count as seperate entries. If you play Tyranids and Marines in the same night, Your marines scores will go under a marine entry and the nids under the nids. You won't be able to trade off armies and gain a cumalitve score to just you. (example: No taking orks w/ trukks the night you have to capture loot counters and winning big, then the next week coming in with marines when you have to hold ground. You could do this if you wish, but the two scores would be kept seperately in their own armies tally and not added together.)
Also, if using two armies, you would not be able to place twice, No taking 1st and 2nd and getting two prizes. But yes you can win 1st and the painting award as well.

Love,

We had the first game and I believe all went well. Sure there was some confusion, but we are all new at this. And I would like to thank all who came out.

Match-ups.
Zack's Marines vs. Steve's Eldar
Jason's Tyranids vs. Joshua's Necrons
Matt's Eldar vs. Clint's Orks
Steven's Tau vs. Richard's Dark Angels
Matt's Tyranids vs Jason's Marines

Ranking and score as of 5/27/2008:
1. Jason's Tyranids 981
2. Matt's Tyranids 750
3. Zack's Marines 700
4. Matt's Eldar 625
5. Steven's Tau 495
6. Jason's Marines 305
7. Richard's Dark Angels 191
8. Clint's Orks 105
9. Joshua's Necrons 20
10. Steve's Eldar 0

The Painting award went to Jason's beautiful Tyranid army that won with 100% of the votes.

The next game will be:
June 17th: 700pt
Alpha Level: Cleanse
Victory Conditions: Corners
Total points possible: 700

I hope to see you all there and hopefully some others. We have come a long way with warhammer in this store. From 2 people for the last 5-6 months to a turnout of 8. I am impressed.
